Our Court was formed in 1995 and will be celebrating our 30th Anniversary this year!
The motto of the CDA is “Unity and Charity” and it is our goal to practice these principles in our Parish and Community - both at home and at large. Our Court provides support through numerous projects providing help to a wide range of individuals from the unborn to our Seniors.A sample of our major ongoing projects are:
The Spiritual Adoption Program includes our annual Baby Shower, which provides donations of diapers, formula, and much-needed mother and baby items to the Greenwood Lake Food Pantry and Good Counsel Home.
Our programs support our Troops and Veterans by participating in “Operation Gratitude” - writing holiday cards, accompanying “Honor Flight” Veterans and writing “thank you” cards to those Vets which are distributed on each flight, and volunteering in nursing homes and at the American Legion for various events they sponsor for our Vets.In the past, we have sponsored two battalions of our troops overseas and hope to adopt another soon.
Our members volunteer at the Parish providing support to meet many Parish needs. They are Eucharist Ministers, Lectors, Religious Education Teachers, members of the Music Ministry as well as sponsoring the annual “All Saints Celebration.”
We support the Greenwood Lake Food Pantry with members volunteering to work at the Pantry weekly and sponsor the annual “Soup-er Bowl” Sunday event and other projects to help re-stock the Pantry.
Our annual Giving Tree Program is a combined effort benefiting our neighbors in the Greenwood Lake School District through the “Adopt-a-Family” program and Catholic Charities by collecting Christmas gifts for individuals in need.
We present a $500 Scholarship to a graduating High School Senior residing in the Greenwood Lake School District.
